How to buy a Kitchen Hood that best suits “ Asian Way of Cooking”?



Having a complete set of kitchen hood nowadays is no longer a luxury, but rather a necessity in life.

Most people would agree that having a good kitchen hood help us to keep the kitchen dry and clean. Yet, we may not know what to consider in purchasing a hood.

In general, there are 2 types of kitchen hoods, recycled and ventilation. In Malaysia , recycled hoods are more popular for condominium and apartment due to the management regulation. Yet, the recycled hoods normally don't have sufficient suction power for Asian way of cooking. On the other hands, most house owners would prefer ventilation type hood for its effectiveness in keeping the smoke, smell and heat out of the kitchen.

Below are some of the tips for choosing the hood that best suits your kitchen life.



Sufficient Airflow Power

Asian way of cooking requires a powerful hood that keeps the smoke and grease away from the kitchen. Therefore, a ventilating hood with sufficient airflow (more than 800m3/h) level can be an excellent choice.
Noise Level

Choosing a powerful hood doesn't mean that we have to sacrifice on the noise tolerance. An ideal hood would operate without generating much noise.

Low maintenance

Buy a hood with long –lasting material and easy to maintain. A good filteration system eases your maintenance work in the long run. Let the hood runs for another 5 minutes after cooking, as to exhaust the smoke and oil out cup before placing it under the hood and it will save you much trouble of cleaning it later.

Design Outlook

While our kitchens are becoming an essential part of modern home living, a stylish design is not doubt an important factor for choosing a hood.

Price and warranty

A good quality hood may not be cheap, but it doesn't mean that you have to pay a sky-high price for that. Also, check out whether the product has a warranty, and how long is last.
